Niofoc Fire Suppression System
Protects cooking equipment, hood, plenum, and ducts — critical points in fire propagation. Its compact stainless steel design integrates seamlessly into the kitchen.
Main features
Professional kitchens combine flammable oils and high temperatures, increasing the risk of fire. For this reason, the Spanish Building Code (CTE) requires the mandatory installation of automatic fire suppression systems in kitchens exceeding 20 kW (hospital or public residential use) and 50 kW for other uses.
Components
Push Button Allows for a fast and safe manual activation of the system by anyone, regardless of their fire-fighting experience.
Low-Pressure Discharge Valve The discharge valve is installed directly on the extinguishing agent cylinder. This valve is made of nickel-coated brass, with an internal actuation mechanism and a discharge port, as well as a filling connection. The discharge valve uses a pressure differential between itself and the integrated detector tube, distributed to the critical risk points; when a temperature rise occurs (160 °C / 250 °C), the tube melts, releases pressure, and triggers the valve through the pressure drop, allowing the extinguishing agent to flow.
Detection System The detection system activates automatically when the environment in contact with the FIRE Niofoc detection line reaches a certain temperature, starting the release of the extinguishing agent. It features multiple detection points along the entire FIRE Niofoc tube, made entirely of polyamide, a material that starts losing structural properties at 160 °C / 250 °C, activating the fire suppression system due to the depressurization of the storage valve. The detector tube is easy to install, even inside the hood and ducts, with a flexible body sensitive to heat.
Diffusers The Niofoc system has five diffusers with different flow rates and coverage angles. Each diffuser has a specific discharge angle and flow rate. All diffusers come with a protective cap to prevent grease in the vapor from clogging them.
Cylinder Made of steel, they serve as containers for the Protech-EX extinguishing agent. Niofoc systems can be standalone or “modular,” combining two or more cylinders to fit any kitchen size. Each cylinder has an extinguishing capacity equivalent to 11 flows.
PROTECH-EX Extinguishing Agent A wetting agent based on potassium salts with low pH. Its extinguishing properties make it ideal for grease and oil fires, type F fires, in both solid and liquid phases. Complies with NFPA 17A standards.
Standards
All components of the system comply with European regulations, which grants them CE marking, and have been tested according to the stringent UL300 standards from Underwriters Laboratories Inc., currently the most demanding in existence.
Maintenance and Warranty
The equipment requires specialized annual maintenance to ensure it remains in optimal condition. This is a truly economical advantage, as our competitors require maintenance every six months.
